The team, which was once considered a favorite, has now become the target of hatred and abuse as the team’s record has remained dismal.

While former Indian players slammed Virat Kohli and co, calling their performance “disappointing,” Pakistani cricketers rallied to India’s cause.

Mohammad Amir, a Pakistani bowler, said on Twitter, “I still believe India is the best team; it’s just a matter of having a good or bad time.”

In response to the online abuse directed at the players, Amir stated that abusing players and their families is “such a shame.” “Don’t forget [at the end of the day], it’s just a game of cricket,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, batter Azhar Ali stated that India’s situation is not looking good. “Things aren’t looking good for India… “However, we’re all rooting for India to stay in the tournament,” he wrote on Twitter.

“India’s early exit will be detrimental to the event,” he added.
