Aqib Javed, a former fast bowler and current head coach of the Lahore Qalandars, says that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is more interesting than the Indian Premier League (IPL). Because of the nature of the grounds and the higher level of fast bowling in the league, Aqib believes the PSL provides a lot more excitement.
According to Aqib, each venue in Pakistan has a unique pitch that caters to both batters and bowlers, but Indian pitches are flat and all games are high-scoring due to the conditions and low-quality fast bowling.
The conditions at National Stadium Karachi favor batsmen, but the PSL matches are always entertaining because the bowlers can make a game even on a flat surface, according to a former World Cup winner.
He also stated that Gaddafi Stadium Lahore benefits bowlers more, which adds to the league’s excitement as each match provides fans with some form of entertainment. The 49-year-old went on to say that the IPL does not have the same level of quick bowling as the PSL and that hitters always score high totals on flat wickets, making every match similar. In the 2018 PSL 7, Aqib will be the head coach of the Lahore Qalandars for the seventh consecutive season. The event is set to begin on January 27 at Karachi’s National Stadium. The tournament final will take place on February 27 at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
