Inzamam-ul-Haq, the country’s legendary cricketer, praised Pakistan skipper Babar Azam for his outstanding performance that led the Green Shirts to a record-breaking victory against India in the T20 World Cup and said that it appeared that he could break all records in the next ten years, according to Geo News.
Speaking on Geo Pakistan, former national cricket team captain Inzamam-ul-Haq said that by defeating India in the T20 World Cup last night, Pakistan sent a message to the entire tournament about how dangerous they are.
“With the technique Babar has, it appears that he can break all records in ten years,” Haq said.
“Babar Azam’s technique is much better than [Indian captain] Virat Kohli’s,” Haq said, adding that Azam was clear on how he wanted the team to play against India even during the practice match.
The former captain added that the winning combination that instilled confidence in the players should be maintained.
Former Test cricketer Mushtaq Ahmed, who appeared on the show, stated that Babar Azam forced all of the players to play according to the plan. He lauded Shadab Khan’s performance, saying he bowled well in the final two overs and took a wicket.
According to the former Test cricketer, the current team lineup does not need to be changed.
The Pakistan team made history by defeating the Indian team by ten wickets in their first T20 World Cup match. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan both hit half-centuries as Pakistan defeated their arch-rivals in the first game of the T20 World Cup.
When the Men in Green came out to bat, Indian captain Virat Kohli praised the Pakistan cricket team for bowling professionally and not giving away a single wicket.
