In the second round of the seven-match T20I series, Pakistan easily defeated England at National Stadium Karachi on Thursday by ten wickets thanks to Babar Azam’s brilliant century and Mohammad Rizwan’s fifty.

Pakistan drew the series at 1-1 with the ten-wicket victory, and Babar surpassed former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed’s record of victories in the T20I format to become Pakistan’s most successful T20I captain.

While the captain who won the Champions Trophy has 29 T20I victories for Pakistan out of 37 games, the all-format skipper now has 30 T20I victories as Pakistan’s captain out of 49 games.

Shahid Afridi, the former captain, won 19 of the 43 games he played in; Mohammad Hafeez, 18 of the 29; and Shoaib Malik’s team, 13 of the 20 games played in the shortest time possible.

The all-format captain also broke Inzamam-ul-Record Haq’s record for the most centuries as a Pakistani captain by scoring an undefeated 110 runs off 66 balls, including 11 boundaries and five maximums.

The 27-year-old also made history by scoring two hundreds in the shortest format, a first for Pakistan. When Pakistan was chasing a massive 205-run total against South Africa in 2021, he got his first century.

The right-hander also passed Australian captain Aaron Finch to move up to fifth place among T20I run scorers, becoming the second player from Pakistan and the youngest to do so.
