
Bangladesh’s star player, Shakib Al Hasan, will be unavailable for the final two Group 1 games against South Africa and Australia.

Due to a hamstring injury, Shakib has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. He injured himself while fielding during Bangladesh’s game against the West Indies, but he still bowled four overs after the injury and even opened the innings while chasing.
Debashis Chowdhury, Bangladesh Team Doctor, stated, “Shakib sustained a left lower hamstring strain while fielding during the match against the West Indies.” It was determined during the clinical examination that the injury was of Grade 1 severity.
He is ruled out of participating in the tournament’s final two matches and until further notice.” Bangladesh will not name a replacement for Shakib because there are no reserve players traveling with the squad.
Bangladesh is winless in the Super 12 stage of the tournament after finishing second in Group A in Round 1. The Tigers are currently at the bottom of Group 1 standings, with two games remaining against South Africa on November 2 and Australia on November 4.
