On Saturday, England batsman Dawid Malan broke Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s record for fastest 1,000 Twenty-20 International (T20I) runs.

Malan took 24 innings to reach 1,000 runs, while Azam took 26 innings to reach the milestone in 2018.

The feat was achieved during an England-India match at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where his team was chasing a 225-run target set by the Men In Blue.

Virat Kohli of India, who is right behind Azam, cleared the target in 27 innings, while Aaron Finch of Australia and Kannur Lokesh Rahul of India did so in 29 innings.
