The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has penalized senior Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik for violating the IPL code of conduct during his team’s match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Kolkata’s Eden Garden.
Despite the fact that the BCCI press statement does not specify the particular infraction committed by the gloveman, Karthik has accepted the accusations.
“Karthik accepted the sentence for the Level 1 infraction under Article 2.3 of the IPL Code of Conduct. The Match Referee’s judgment is decisive and binding for Level 1 Code of Conduct violations, according to an IPL press release.
Article 2.3 of the IPL code of conduct, for example, prohibits the use of loud obscenity during a contest that is audible to the public, whether by stump mic or otherwise. This includes any player, in any language, using cuss/offensive words during the game.
Dinesh Karthik yelled a foul term out of irritation while batting against LSG, which was picked up by the stump mic.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) eventually won the tournament after defeating Lucknow by 14 runs in the eliminator. While RCB advanced to the qualifier 2, Lucknow, who were making their debut, packed their belongings and exited.
