England vs India: Moeen Ali Joins Squad for Second Test

For the next second test between England and India, Moeen Ali has been recalled.

In just one test match in the last two years, the left-arm off-break bowler. Six months ago in Chennai, he played versus India. Now he’s going to play again against India at the Lord’s.

Without Ben Stokes and Chris Woakes, the United Kingdom was overstretched last week for important sections of the drawn opening at Trent Bridge and is trying to rebalance this side.

After a test in wg=he took 8 wickets and scored 43 runs in the second innings of the trial, Ali has played solely withe-ball matches.

Twice in the game, but not further played, he bowled India’s skipper Virat Kohli. As part of the rotation program of the England Crick Board (ECB), he took scheduled rest.

Ali played white-ball matches after the test. He last played as the captain of Birmingham Phoenix in the opening season of The Hundred.

With his staff at the top, he concluded the season with excellent performance. On Monday he produced a blistering 59 against Welsh Fire, hitting 5 6 and 3 4 in just 28 balls.

“We will look at and weigh up the situation, but he’s in an excellent position to play,” Captain Joe Root of England stated. “That is why he was summoned for the squad, both for his bat and ball capabilities. Though he’s in short format, at the moment he plays in terrific shape with tremendous confidence, and in the test arena, we all know what he is able to do. He’s scored great hundreds and also won the games with the ball.

“If he gets a chance, he will impress and show everybody how well he is in cricket testing as much as white-ball cricket.”
