European Super League: UEFA Threatens Clubs And Players With Ban

On Munday, the European Union Football Association (UEFA), on the occasion of a “disgraceful and self-serving” proposal, threatened clubs and players to join a separate Super League could face a ban on its contests and the World Cup.

According to JP Morgan, he finances a new league, including clubs like Real Madrid and Manchester United, rivalling the established UEFA Champions League.

In his statement, the president of UEFA Aleksander Ceferin said,

“We still evaluate with our legal team, but we will take all the penalties we can and we’re going to let you know as soon as possible,” he said. “My view is that all our competitions and players from all our competitions must be banned as soon as possible.”

“UEFA and the world of football are united against the disgraceful and independent proposal for a select number of greed-motivated clubs in Europe we have seen over the past 24 hours. This unsense of a project is something we all are united against,” said Ceferin.

Earlier, six of the leading teams of the British Premier League agreed to join the brand new European Super League (ESL).

The new mid week tournament featured the leading clubs from three European leading leaders, Arsenal, Chelsea, Livingpool, the Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham joined AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus (from Italy’s Series A), and Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and the Real Madrid (from La Liga Spain).

The ESL stated that the founding clubs had agreed to launch a “new mid-week” competition with their national teams.

The ESL also said that it plans to open a women’s competition at the start of the men’s tournament as soon as possible.

UK Premier Boris Johnson and UEFA condemned the move after the news broke Sunday. The newsletter is not available.

The ESL said in a declaration:

“The founding clubs look forward to holding discussions in partnership with Uefa and Fifa to achieve the best results for the new league and for football in general.”
