Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene has backed Pakistan pacer, Hasan Ali, to represent the Men in Green in the ongoing T20 World Cup in 2021. According to Mahela, the world is aware of Hasan’s talent, and a few bad matches should not be cause for concern for the Pakistan cricket team.

Hasan has been Pakistan’s most expensive bowler in the three T20 World Cup matches so far. Hasan gave up 44 runs in the first match against India, 26 runs in three overs against New Zealand, and 38 runs against Afghanistan. In the match against New Zealand, he did take three wickets and ran out Kane Williamson.
Mahela believes Hasan will soon return to his usual level of performance.
I don’t believe so because there are other bowlers who are doing the job. We know Hasan Ali’s ability, and he will always produce that crucial wicket for them. That is not a major concern for Pakistan, in my opinion. The stylish middle-order batsman also provided valuable advice to the Pakistan team. He believes that Pakistan should bat first in their two matches against Namibia and Scotland in order to fully prepare for the challenges that await them in the semi-final and final.
So far, Pakistan has batted second in all three matches and has been able to comfortably chase down the targets. According to Mahela, it will be a good opportunity for Pakistani bowlers to prepare to defend a total in difficult bowling conditions in the second innings, as well as increase the confidence of the entire unit as they will have covered all of their bases ahead of the knockout games.
