Spinner Zafar Gohar from Pakistan is thrilled to have signed a two-year deal with Gloucestershire club for the County Championship and can’t wait to get back into the team’s locker room.

I’m thrilled to have pledged to spend the next two years living in Gloucestershire. I had a great time living in Bristol last season and have made some wonderful friends there,” Zafar said. The Gloucestershire Cricket Club has decided to keep the 27-year-old cricketer at the Seat Unique Stadium until at least the end of the 2024 season after he previously played for them on short-term contracts.

The cricketer, who was born in Lahore, continued by saying that Gloucestershire Cricket has a lot of talent and that he will try his best to help the County club succeed in the following two seasons.

At the club’s annual End of Season Gala Dinner, Zafar was recognized as the Bowler of the Season and Players’ Player of the Season for his outstanding performance for Gloucestershire in 2022.

Zafar finished sixth among all bowlers in Division One with 47 wickets and a bowling economy of 2.97. He also had a successful One-Day Cup campaign, taking 13 wickets in eight games.
