All-rounder Pakistan Muhammad Hafeez, a member of the Central Punjab Squad, has, according to sources, been removed from the National T20 Cup which is still being held in Rawalpindi.
Sources have stated that the Batsman of the left Islamabad to Lahore was forced to retire from the ongoing matches at Rawalpindi due to food toxicity.
“Hafeez’s blood tests will be carried out today,” a source stated. “To the matches in Lahore he would join Punjab Central.”
Central officials of Punjab said Hafeez now feels good, and doctors have told him to rest.
Prime Minister Imran Khan met the 40-year-old cricketist together with Pakistan’s chairman, Ramiz Raja, and other members of the Men’s T20 World Cup Squad of the ICC.
Hafeez had stated that meeting his “idol” premier Imran before the T20 World Cup squad headed, next month, was always “inspirational.”
During the ceremony, PM Imran recommended the team to do everything possible to start the following month’s huge event.
The conference was organised following a major blow from the PCB and a call to Pakistan was launched after New Zealand and England.
