Inzamam Includes Surprising Picks In His T20 World Cup Squad

Inzamam-ul-Haq, former Chief Selector, also spoke to his opinions as to what the squad should look like in Pakistan. Inzamam believes the Top Order and bowling unit of Pakistan are settled more or less and there should be no substantial adjustments. He noted that the middle order is a concern for the national team, and Pakistan needs to be intelligent in selecting its squads.

The 15-man roster of Inzamam has a few surprise chips like Shoaib Malik, a retired fast bowler, Mohammad Amir, and Shan Massood, a senior all-rounder. Inzamam believes that the expertise of Shoaib Malik in the medium order will be of great significance to Pakistan, and that he is the greatest alternative available.

“It is in the middle order that you tried Haider (Ali), Azam Khan and many others, but no one has scored. A key position is the middle order. The senior player is Shoaib Malik. He should be considered for sure if it accomplishes the job for you till the World Cup,” stated Inzamam.

The 51-year-old also lauded Shan Masood for his sixth-day Pakistan Super League (PSL) performance and the opening Kashmir Premier League (KPL) edition. He claimed that while playing at a high strike rate, Shan plays risk-free cricket, and Pakistan can employ its services if the other players fail.

The ex-captain also advised Mohammad Amir, because he may be the different man at the huge event, to retire from international cricket. He stated Amir’s experience would perform wonders for the T20 World Cup national squad
