In the DY Patil Sports Academy, Rajasthan Royals (RR) faced Delhi Capitals (DC) in match number 58 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. The Delhi Capitals (DC) won by eight wickets, chasing the target in just 18.1 overs, in a low-scoring match between the two sides.

Delhi captain Rishabh Pant chose to bowl first after winning the toss. DC got off to a great start as they got Jos Buttler in the third over. R Ashwin was elevated to lead the innings, and the right-handed batsman did an excellent job, scoring a half-century.

Meanwhile, wickets started falling on the other side. Devdutt Padikkal showed some fight by scoring 48 runs off 30 deliveries, but he couldn’t stop the wickets from falling.

As a result, Rajasthan Royals (RR) could only manage 160 runs in their allotted 20 overs, losing six wickets.

It’s never easy to chase a low total, especially on slower tracks. Trent Boult removed Srikar Bharat for a 2-ball duck in the first over, as DC lost their first wicket. Following a couple of excellent overs from Rajasthan, David Warner and Mitchell Marsh conducted a rescue mission and got DC back on track.

After settling in, the two Australians began adding runs on every opportunity presented by the opposition. Marsh was the aggressor, scoring 89 off 62 balls, while Warner anchored the innings with an unbeaten 52 off 41 deliveries.

In the 18th over, skipper Rishabh Pant hit two enormous sixes to Yuzvendra Chahal, securing a crucial two points for his team.

IPL 2022 Points Table:

With the win, Delhi maintained its chances of finishing in the top four of the Tata IPL 2022. In their first 12 games, Delhi had six wins and as many losses. The team is now in fifth place and will be looking to win two more games to secure a postseason berth.

Rajasthan Royals, on the other hand, have been off the pace in recent outings. The franchise performed admirably in the first phase, but their subsequent matchups have left them looking rusty.

Rajasthan Royals have won seven of their first twelve matches, putting the franchise in third place with 14 rating points.

IPL 2022 Orange Cap:

In the Tata IPL 2022 orange cap battle, DC opener David Warner has made huge strides recently. Warner has improved his batting consistency from nowhere in the top ten to number three.

Warner moved Shubman Gill and Faf du Plessis to third place because to his undefeated 52 runs against Rajasthan Royals. In ten matches, the Australian cricketer has amassed 427 runs at a fantastic average of 61.00.

Meanwhile, despite not scoring much last night, Rajasthan’s Jos Buttler continues to lead the race. Buttler has 625 runs at an average of 56.82 in 12 IPL 2022 matches, putting him 176 runs clear of second-placed KL Rahul.

IPL 2022 Purple Cap:

Last night, RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took a lone wicket against Delhi Capitals, extending his lead to 23 wickets. Chahal now leads the points table with 23 kills in 12 games.

Despite failing to capture up wickets against RR last night, Kuldeep Yadav of the Delhi Capitals stayed in third place. In the IPL 2022, Yadav has 18 wickets from 12 innings.
