Last night, the Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings met in the Brabourne Stadium for match number 68 of the Tata Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. RR crushed CSK by 5 wickets in an exciting chase to secure a playoff berth.

MS Dhoni won the coin toss and chose to go with the total against RR. In the first over of the inning, the yellow brigade dealt an early punch as opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was dismissed for a low score by Trent Boult. All-rounder Moeen Ali, on the other hand, played a counter-attacking knock, scoring 93 runs in 57 deliveries.

Despite a hot start, the CSK batters were unable to capitalize on it throughout the game. CSK was restricted to just 150 runs in 20 overs after scoring 75 runs in the powerplay. Rajasthan Royals produced a good comeback after an early attack.

Rajasthan Royals lost their crucial cog, Jos Buttler, in the second over of the innings in reaction to a low total. Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal, on the other hand, stepped up and scored 59 runs. Ravichandran Ashwin demonstrated his batting prowess by scoring an unbroken 40 runs to help RR cross the finish line.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) won by five wickets against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

Following their victory over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday night, Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals (RR) clinched their top-two finish. Due to their higher net run rate, RR surpassed Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the points standings.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) completed their disorganized and defective Tata IPL 2022 campaign on a poor note. CSK ended in the penultimate position with only four victories in 14 matches.

IPL 2022 Orange Cap:

RR batsman Jos Buttler is still in charge of the orange hat despite making only two runs against Chennai Super Kings. Buttler’s poor performance in the second half of the IPL 2022 continued when he was dismissed by Simarjeet Singh without scoring.

So far, the RR wicketkeeper has scored 629 runs in 14 appearances. The gloveman is still 92 runs ahead of KL Rahul, who is in second place.

In the meantime, there are no Chennai batters in the top ten Orange Cap rankings. Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is rated 18th in the rankings, is their top batter with 368 runs.

IPL 2022 Purple Cap:

Yuzvendra Chahal, the RR spinner, once again controlled the match with his spin, reclaiming his purple cap from RCB spinner Wanindu Hasaranga. Chahal took two wickets against CSK, putting him two wickets ahead of Hasaranga.

Yuzvendra Chahal has 26 wickets from 14 matches, while Wanindu Hasaranga has 24 wickets from the same number of games.
