Moeen Ali, England’s all-rounder, has announced his retirement from Test cricket, after a career that spanned 64 matches. To extend his limited-overs career, Moeen announced that he has opted to resign from the longest format of the game.

“I’m 34 now, and I want to play cricket for as long as I can,” Ali remarked. “When you’re having a good day, test cricket is better than any other format.” It’s considerably more satisfying, and you feel like you’ve earned it,” he continued.

Despite being the most entertaining version of the game, Moeen stated that the intensity of Test cricket is now too much for him to bear.He expressed his satisfaction with the quantity of Test cricket he has played and his contributions to the England cricket team in the longest format.

The 34-year-most old’s recent Test match was against India in the fourth Test at the Oval. Moeen Ali was unable to assist his team in winning the match, as India overcame England 2-1 to take a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series.
