The winners of several players of the year honors have begun to be revealed by the International Cricket Council (ICC). For his record-breaking year with the bat, Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan has been named the ICC T20I Cricketer of the Year.

In 2021, the opening batter set a number of batting records and led Pakistan to a number of triumphs. His biggest performance came against India in the T20I World Cup in 2021, when he hammered all Indian bowlers all over the field. In Pakistan’s first-ever World Cup victory over arch-rivals India, he scored 79* in only 55 balls.

He won the title for scoring 1,326 runs at an average of 73.66 in 29 matches, including one century. Behind the stumps, Rizwan had a total of 24 dismissals to his name.

Rizwan also finished the ICC T20I World Cup in 2021 as the third-highest run-scorer with 281 runs in six innings.

Jos Buttler of England, Wanindu Hasaranga of Sri Lanka, and Mitchell Marsh of Australia were among the other nominees for the prize.
