The seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will take place as planned, according to a source in the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday.
The PCB had previously announced that the marquee tournament would begin late in January 2022, rather than in February or March, due to the home series against Australia.
Refuting media reports that the league might be delayed by a week or so, the source stated that no such proposal was under consideration and that the league would proceed as planned.
Concerning the PSL 7 draught, the source stated that the cricket board was working out a date before the West Indies home series, and that the draught would take place in the second week of December.
Earlier, media reports suggested that the start of the seventh season of the PSL could be postponed due to difficulties with player registration on the part of the PSL management. “The PSL’s management was having difficulty registering players because the majority of the players will be playing in a foreign league on the dates proposed for the PSL 7 draught.” “The league could be postponed for a few days,” a media outlet reported, citing PCB sources.
It should be noted that the draught for PSL 7 was previously scheduled for the first week of December, but it may now be pushed back by a week.
