
In their match, Southern Punjab and Northern Punjab combined for 27 sixes, equaling Pakistan’s record for most sixes in a T20 match. On Wednesday, the record was set in the 20th match of the 2021 National Cup. In the first innings, Northern Punjab hit 11 sixes, then Southern Punjab followed up with 16 sixes as they chased down a mammoth total of 212 to claim their first victory of the season.

Salman Ali Agha, the batter for Southern Punjab, smashed five sixes, the most by any hitter in the competition, as he led his team to a historic triumph. For his outstanding effort, Salman Ali Agha was chosen player of the match.
In a six-hitting frenzy at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore, Northern batters Haider Ali and Mohammad Nawaz blasted four sixes apiece, while Southern Punjab’s explosive hitter, Azam Khan, and skipper, Aamer Yamin, hammered three sixes each. This is the third time in Pakistani T20 matches that 27 sixes have been hit in a single game. Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars had previously hit 27 sixes in their Pakistan Super League (PSL) match at National Stadium Karachi. Northern and Central Punjab, meanwhile, scored 27 maximums in their match at Faisalabad’s Iqbal Stadium in the 2019 National T20 Cup.
