ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani All-rounder Azhar Mahmood believes that Pakistan still has the ability to play the Men in Blue at the next Twenty20 World cup, although the Indian team has played well.
The men in Blue have an edge over Pakistan, Mahmood remarked, but Pakistan still has the capability to overcome its neighbours.

“It’s going to be a challenging match since India plays well and has an edge over Pakistan. But if the team clicks Pakistan, I’m sure we can win India,” he was quoted as saying by cricketpakistan.com.pk.
He has cast his weight into the Men’s T20 World Cup team behind the inclusion of batters, Asif Ali and Khushdil Sha.
“Fakhar Zaman, in my opinion, was supposed to be in the team. Shoaib Malik should have been put in the middle order, as he has been quite successful in the recent past. He’s done well in the PSL and worldwide leagues. Such situations you absolutely need expertise,” Mahmood remarked.
“The positive thing is that Asif Ali and Khushdil Shah have been remembered because of the impact players in the middle,” he remarked.
He also supported Pakistan for the event knockout. “We will have the right conditions in the UAE as we play with our guys.

I believe our squad can qualify and possibly win the half-finals. Dynamism will also be crucial if we want to conduct the event successfully,” he remarked.
The T20 World Cup, which is just about the corner, was challenged by the resignations of head coach Misbahul Haq and bowling trainer Waqar Younis.
“The schedule of the T20 World Cup is not right because the coaches have been working on that in the past several years,” he says.
Mahmood also claimed that he was prepared to serve as a national bowling coach if necessary.
“I haven’t been approached by anybody so far for the post of bowler trainer, but I’m always prepared to serve my country if I’m needed.
