As the PCB has awarded them NOC for the event, Pakistan’s top cricketers will shortly join their county sides in England. Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan are among the seven players who have been awarded permission to play in the next County season.
Pakistani stars will take a break before returning to international cricket when Australia’s historic tour of Pakistan closes tomorrow with a one-off T20I match between the two teams. The ODI series against the West Indies has been delayed, therefore the Men in Green will not be wearing national colors until June.
Meanwhile, the team’s key players have secured contracts with several County clubs for the forthcoming English cricket season.
According to sources, the PCB has offered seven players permission to play county cricket on the condition that they return for national duty when required. Star cricketers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Rizwan are among the players slated to depart for England soon. Middlesex will field a young speedster, while Sussex will field Mohammad Rizwan.
Azhar Ali will also play for Worcestershire in the County Championship. Naseem Shah, a young fast bowler, has already joined Gloucestershire, while Zafar Gohar is expected to join the team soon.
Pakistan players will serve their respective teams based on their national team schedules. The 2022 County Championship season will take place in England and Wales from April 7 to September 29.
