According to Radio Pakistan, the government will begin the ‘Kamyab Jawan Sports Drive’ in Islamabad on Monday in order to restore sports culture and produce national heroes.
The drive will be launched by Prime Minister Imran Khan at the Jinnah Stadium Sports Complex in Islamabad.
Muhammad Usman Dar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Kids Affairs, stated that this would be the largest sports program in the country’s history, allowing youth to engage in healthy physical activities.
Under the talent hunt program’s first phase, he said, 12 different games for males and 10 for females would be held throughout 25 locations. Both divisions would have an age range of 11 to 25 years.
Prime Minister Imran Khan emphasized on December 4 that providing sports facilities to youth was one of the government’s top goals.
“The government is focused on providing sports facilities to youth,” the premier said during a high-level meeting in Islamabad on the National Sports Policy and Overhauling of Sports Governance Structure.
He had stated that the government was determined to tap the potential of Pakistani youth by increasing sports participation.
