Ramiz Raja, chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), organized a ceremony at the Gaddafi Stadium to honor the Pakistani team’s outstanding performance in the calendar year 2021.

Abid Ali and Sajid Khan, in addition to the national team, attended the ceremony. The cricketers were rewarded for their outstanding performance in the year 2021.

Ramiz has already visited with the players at the High-Performance Centre.

Some notable players were present, including Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Rizwan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed, Imad Waseem, and others.

Former temporary national team coach Saqlain Mushtaq was also present.

“It’s been an incredible season, and we’ll appreciate the players,” Raja added, praising the team’s overall effort during the season.

“I’m hoping that the performance will continue to be good in the future,” he continued.

Mohammad Waseem, the PCB’s top selector, praised the team for their remarkable performance at the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

“Both the skipper and the players deserve credit for a terrific effort,” Wasim added.

With a coronavirus outbreak and inadequate time for such reunions, he remarked that it was necessary to have a serious discussion with the players.

The national team has earned a lot of love and admiration for their individual and collective performances, which have made the country proud. Consider the following examples:

  • In the 2021 T20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated India for the first time in a world cup match.
  • Pakistan qualified for the 2021 T20 World Cup semi-finals.
  • In 2021, Pakistan won seven of the nine Test matches it played.
  • In 2021, they won two out of six ODIs and 20 out of 29 T20Is.
