On September 17, New Zealand Cricket announced the cancellation of their visit of Pakistan, citing a security alert.
Similarly, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) cancelled their tour of Pakistan.
“We appreciate that this decision would be a great disappointment to the PCB,” the ECB said, expressing regret. The PCB had worked relentlessly to bring international cricket back to their country.
The ECB, on the other hand, stated that the “mental and physical well-being” of its players and support personnel remained a top priority, which is all the more important given the “times we are now living in.”Fawad Chaudhry, the federal minister of information, conducted a crucial news conference regarding New Zealand’s withdrawal.
