Shahid Afridi, former Pakistani crickter, praised the Pakistani team that won T2OI against South Africa.
He took the Twitter micro-blog and wrote,
“For Pakistan’s congratulations on the win! Notwithstanding the victory, we must look at the performance of the middle order where we appear to fight for quite a long time. I think it is necessary to rethink Shoaib Malik, especially as this is a year of the T20 World Cup.”
Congratulations Pakistan on the series win! Despite the victory we need to review the middle-order performances where we seem to be struggling for a long time. I think Shoaib Malik must be considered again, especially since it's a T20 World Cup year— Shahid Afridi (@SAfridiOfficial) April 16, 2021
In the fourth match in the T20 series, Fakhar Zaman’s aggressive half-century aided Pakistan to defeat South Africa by 3 wickets.
Pakistan won the toss and invited South Africa to fight again during Centurion’s 4th and final T20 match.
When the innings began in South Africa, its first and greatest loss came with only 11 runs of score from Eden Mercury, which scored half centuries in the previous three games.
When the initial wicket came down, Janneman Malan was joined by Rassie van der Dawson, and both players were playing a responsible match and partnering in a 57-run partnership. The dismissal of Malan was 33.
Dawson and Captain Henry Klaassen joined together to finish off the team’s century and score 109, but Klaassen and Dawson continued with 52 scored runs in the same score.
For Pakistan, the most successful bowlers with three wickets were Hassan Ali and Faheem Ashraf and two wickets were taken by Haris Rauf.
After these two players were dismissed, the South African team was not able to recover, and from time to time they continued to lose wickets and 144 runs in the last one.
Mohammad Rizwan came home without a run in the second ball when Pakistan started innings.
The duo formed a brilliant 91-run partnership and opened the door for victory in Pakistan. After playing an innings of 60 of 34 balls with the help of four six and five fours, Fakhar Zaman returned to the pavilion.
Babar has also been discarded for 24 off 23 balls following Fakhar’s dismissal.
The game’s best player for three wickets in 17 runs was declared by Faheem Ashraf. The best player in the series was declared by Babar Azam.
Pakistan has also won the 1-3 series with three wickets.
Chairman PCB, on the other hand, congratulated the national cricket team on a successful South Africa tour.
Furthermore, Fakhr Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan have the capacity to become the best captain in Pakistan, strengthening Pakistan’s highest order.
“The Captain, Player and the entire Misbah-ul-Haq coaching team of National Cricket Team should be commended,” said Ehsan Mani, Chairman of PCB.
