Shane Warne, a former Australian leg-spinner, has backed Pakistan to reach the T20 World Cup final in the United Arab Emirates.
The legendary cricketer’s remarks came after the Pakistan team stunned the cricketing world by winning crucial games against India, New Zealand, and Afghanistan.

Shane Warne predicted that England, which currently leads Group 1 with six points from three games, will win, followed by Australia, which has won two of their three games so far.
Warne predicted that Pakistan would win Group 2, with India coming in second. This would have been true if India had beaten the Kiwis in their humiliating match over the weekend, with Kane Williamson’s team crushing Kohli’s XI by a wide margin. The 52-year-old believes that between the two semi-finals, the world will witness either an India-Pakistan final or a rematch of the Ashes match (England vs Australia).
Overall, aside from Pakistan and England finishing first and second in their respective groups, Warne’s predictions fail to place enough emphasis on the progress of other teams. While the Australian legend’s predictions are roughly proportional to the game’s outcomes, his prediction about India is a little squeamish. As we all know, Kohli XI is currently in second-last place, one spot ahead of Scotland, and appears to be on its way out. Whatever the case, the final will be held in Dubai on November 14, i.e., Sunday, and Pakistan appears to be on track to participate.
