After Sohaib Maqsood was ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup owing to injury, veteran cricketer Shoaib Malik returned to the national team.
“Sohaib is heartbroken about missing out on the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup since he had put in a lot of effort and was in top shape.” We sympathize with him, but injuries are unavoidable in sports. In a statement made by the Pakistan Cricket Board, Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim said, “I am confident that after completing rehabilitation, he would fully recover and be available for future assignments.”

After “discussions” with the team management, the selectors agreed to add Shoaib as a replacement, according to Wasim.
“I’m confident Shoaib’s experience will benefit the entire squad,” the chief selector remarked.
Sohaib received MRI scans for his lower back on Thursday, according to the PCB, after suffering an injury during a match against Northern on October 6. He also missed the Central Punjab encounter on October 7.
Sarfaraz, Haider, and Fakhar have been included in the World Cup team.
Shoaib is the team’s fourth change ahead of the T20 World Cup.
Following their outstanding performance in the National T20 Cup, PCB confirmed that former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Haider Ali, and Fakhar Azam have been recalled to the national squad for the T20 World Cup.
“We have chosen to select Haider Ali, Fakhar Zaman, and Sarfaraz Ahmed in the squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 after assessing player performances in the highly competitive National T20 and consulting with team management,” PCB Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim said in a statement.
Azam Khan and Mohammad Hasnain have been replaced by Sarfaraz and Haider, respectively, while Fakhar Zaman, who was originally selected as a travel reserve, has been replaced by Khushdil Shah.
From October 17 to November 14, the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021 will be contested in the United Arab Emirates. Pakistan will play India in the opening match of Group 2 on October 24 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
