Sohaib has recently been recalled to Pakistan’s T20 squad following a stellar year in domestic cricket. In the sixth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), he was selected player in the tournament after scoring heavily in the previous editions of the National T20 Cup and Pakistan One Day Cup.

Sohaib will not be a part of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup team, according to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), and his replacement will be revealed soon. In place of Sohaib, it is believed that one of Azam Khan or seasoned middle-order batsman Shoaib Malik will be called up.

PCB has already made three changes to their initial roster for the 2021 T20 World Cup, with former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed, Fakhar Zaman, and Haider Ali replacing Azam Khan, Khushdil Shah, and Mohammad Hasnain.

The International Cricket Council has set a deadline of 10 October for the announcement of the tournament’s official 15-man team (ICC).
