After suffering a back injury, Pakistani cricketer Sohaib Maqsood has been ruled out of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which begins on October 17 in the UAE and Oman.
According to a statement from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), a medical panel comprised of Chief Medical Officer Dr. Najeeb and Physiotherapist Cliffe Deacon has advised Sohaib Maqsood to rest following his medical checkup.

Soon, the identity of a replacement player for him on the national squad for the huge event will be revealed.
Sohaib Maqsood’s chances of making the T20 World Cup squad were harmed when the middle-order batsman suffered a back injury during the National T20 Cup.
Due to the pain, he was unable to play in Southern Punjab’s match against Central Punjab on Thursday.
Sohaib Maqsood had been sent to the hospital for an MRI scan the day before because he was having trouble walking.
Shoaib Malik’s name is being mentioned as a possible replacement player.
The cricketers who have been picked for the ICC event are currently being tested for COVID-19 in a unique bio-secure bubble put up at a local hotel in Lahore.
According to the PCB, all of the players have tested negative and will begin training on Sunday. On October 14, the cricketers will practise at the National High-Performance Centre and play a scenario match at the Gaddafi Stadium. Aboard October 15, the national team will go to Dubai on a chartered jet.
