
The seventh edition of the International Cricket Council (ICC) Men’s T20 World Cup will begin today in Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The first qualification will be contested today at 3:00 p.m. PST between co-host Oman and Papua New Guinea (PNG). At 7:00 p.m. PST, Bangladesh, which is competing in the qualifying stage for the first time, will face Scotland in the second qualifier.
Since 2016, Oman has competed in the ICC T20 World Cup for the second time. In the previous qualifiers, they had only won one of three matches. They are hoping to secure a spot in the Super12 after being ranked 18th in the ICC T20 rankings.
With full confidence, PNG will compete in the ICC T20 World Cup for the first time. In the ICC T20 rankings, they are ranked 15th, three places ahead of Oman.
The match will take place at the Oman Cricket Academy Ground in Al Amerat at 14:00 local time (15:00 Pakistan time).
