Wasim Akram sees no better local coach after Misbah-ul-Haq

In an interview, Wasim Akram remarked that Pakistan’s cricket team can no longer have a better local coach after Misbach-ul-Haq, the sultan swinging Pakistan.

He believes that a foreign coach will solely deal with team problems.

He stated, “I don’t see a local person responsible for coaching Pakistan’s team. Tell me if you see somebody?”

Wasim Akram says that Javed Miandad can’t understand the contemporary cricket approach and cannot adequately train the team.

He remarked, “See, it’s a good cricket mind for Javed Bhai, but he needs to know about current cricketing. The game has greatly changed and I think he can’t acclimatise here,”

Wasim was pleased with the T20 team player pick.

He remarked, “Look, everybody wants to make everyone happy with their favourite players in the team here. All the criticisms demonstrate how much people love this game, but please respect your players here. Critique is two different things and misbehaviour,”

He also dispelled the questions over his role in the selection of the team and indicated that he had no time.

He said, “For a long time now I have been hearing this. Do you believe I have sufficient time to cope with all this? Not in any way!”
